How to use yellow sticky traps?
With yellow sticky traps, you can catch:
- fungus gnats / sciarid flies
- whitefly
- adult thrips
- winged aphids
Yellow is the best color to attract flying insects. When the trap is full or is no longer sticky due to accumulated dirt or dust, replace the trap.
Are yellow sticky traps enough on their own?
Yellow sticky traps are very useful to quickly reduce the population of egg-laying adult insects. With prolonged use in the plants, they will greatly reduce an infestation. However, since there is always the chance that adult insects may lay eggs before being trapped, the problem will not be resolved entirely using only yellow sticky traps.
If you are dealing with fungus gnats, you should use yellow sticky traps in combination with Stenema.
If you have a thrips infestation, you can combine the yellow sticky traps with the tube of cucumeris predatory mites, with the cucumeris slow-release sachets, and also with Felti-care, but not with Orius pirate bugs. Orius is a winged insect and will also be attracted to the yellow sticky traps.
