Cherry trees
Both the European cherry fruit fly and spotted wing Drosophila (Suzukii fruit fly) can cause worms in cherries. The cherry fruit fly leaves exactly one worm per fruit, while Drosophila always leaves two. This is how you can know which pest you are dealing with. Combat the European cherry fruit fly with a pheromone trap using either the McPhail trap or the yellow sticky trap system. Combat spotted-wing Drosophila fruit flies with the Droso trap.
